Queensland Strata – Looking back on 2021

In the last webinar for 2021, it’s time to look back and reflect on a major year in the strata community in Queensland. For building managers, bodies corporate, investors, owner-occupiers and tenants, it has been a year of challenges and change. The impact of COVID on strata living has been immense, not least of which is owners not paying levies on time with a resulting impact on bodies corporate cash flow. New regulation modules were introduced in 2021, but there are still some shades of grey in their interpretation. The full ramifications of the new modules may not be seen for another six months, and it appears changes still have some way to go in 2022 as well. Strata experts Frank Higginson from Hynes Legal and Chris Irons look back on a busy year and what implications it has for life in strata in 2022.
